Park Lounge Event: A Night of Celebration, Culture, and Expression
On February 2025, the Park Lounge event brought together an incredible group of people for an unforgettable celebration of queer culture and expression, held as part of the Midsumma Festival. As the largest event in the West, it featured an electrifying stage program blending disco beats with country influences. The evening came alive with stunning performances from Leroy Macqueen, Sunshine and the Disco Faith Choir, and Disco Rodeo Boot Scooting.
The spotlight also shone on rising First Nations artist, Barb B Doll, delivering a powerful performance. Creativity flowed in the Scraps Craft Lounge, where attendees could unleash their artistic side. Local service providers and departments connected with the community through activities and information sharing.
The Park Lounge event has become a highlight on the local LGBTQIA+ calendar, offering a vibrant space for connection and expression. The atmosphere of the evening was one of safety, inclusivity, and warmth, creating a welcoming environment where everyone felt celebrated and valued.
