The Big Summer Read competition has closed for 2025.

What is the BIG Summer Read?

The BIG Summer Read is open to anyone up to the age of 18 years old. This annual reading challenge encourages children to read for pleasure and aims to address the 'summer slide', which refers to the loss of literacy experienced over the long summer break if children are not exposed to books or reading.

A minimum of 5 books read, or 5 days of reading, need to be recorded in the Big Summer Read online portal to be eligible for the prize draw.

Wyndham has some great prizes this year, including a Zoos Victoria Membership, Museums Victoria Membership and a Lego Creator Pack.

Registration opens December 1st 2025. The competition runs from December 1st to January 31st. Please come back to this page closer to December for details on how to register.
