Council is fully funding the Ison Road Extension, utilising a State Government contribution of $60 million via GAIC funding.

Roads

This initiative not only connects the existing Ison Road Overpass, currently under construction, with the Princes Highway (Geelong Rd), but also offers improved accessibility to surrounding areas.

Key Features and Benefits:

Enhanced Connectivity: The project will provide a direct link to the Princes Freeway to enhance connectivity for residents and commuters alike.

Safety and Congestion Reduction: Through the creation of additional lanes and improved road infrastructure, the project will alleviate congestion and enhance safety, particularly in central Werribee.

Projected Traffic Volume: Upon completion, the overpass and new section of Ison Road are anticipated to accommodate approximately 29,000 journeys daily by 2036, effectively meeting the growing transportation needs of the region.
