Skips, Bins & Shipping Containers

If you need a Shipping Container you must apply for a permit and you can only place it on your naturestrip if there is enough room on the naturestrip. You will also need Public Liability Insurance & need to adhere to the VicRoads 'Code Practise for Placement of waste Bins roadside'.

To apply you need to download, complete and submit a Container Permit application form and a Public Liability form and pay a fee.

Wyndham City requires 15 working days to process your permit

Your application will be assessed by Wyndham City and a permit will be issued only if the application meets all requirements.

If the Shipping Container is placed on your property you may require a Town Planning or Building permit.

Please phone Wyndham City on 1300 023 411 for further information. Please note the use of containers is strictly to be used in the building/construction stage of a dwelling (home).

A permit is required for a trade waste bin, hoppers or bin skip to be placed on your nature strip and in some cases the road maybe used.

There is one permit for building sites only and one for residential area only.
