Skeleton Creek is one of Wyndham’s natural treasures, and the Skeleton Creek Interpretive Trail is a great way to experience the creek and learn more about our native flora and fauna.
A total of 13 signs have been installed at various points along Skeleton Creek, starting near the mouth of Skeleton Creek, behind Sanctuary Lakes, and finishing in Truganina, just below Leakes Road.
Each sign is dedicated to a particular feature or species native to Skeleton Creek, including the Growling Grass Frog, Orange-bellied Parrot and even waterbugs!
The signs also highlight the impact that climate change has had on our waterways, and the conservation efforts undertaken along Skeleton Creek.
This project was a collaboration between Council, Melbourne Water and the Friends of Skeleton Creek, with everyone working together to provide content for the signage.
