On Sunday, October 27, families in Wyndham gathered for the fully booked-out 2024 Children’s Week Picnic at the beautiful Werribee Park Mansion grounds. The free event, hosted by Wyndham City, enjoyed perfect weather, setting the scene for a day full of fun, laughter, and creative activities.
The highlight of the day was THE little BIG STAGE, offering an exciting mix of children's entertainment, including music, dance, puppetry, and cultural performances. A special treat for attendees was the world premiere of The Snow Globe, a mesmerizing performance set inside a snow globe, telling an adventurous and courageous story.
This year, the event introduced the Little Bubs area, providing a safe and engaging space for children under three to enjoy soft play and messy activities. The ever-popular Craft Dome was back, inviting kids to get creative with wearable art, while the Active Kids Zone was buzzing with energy. Children had the chance to try out new sports like wall climbing, karate, football, basketball, disc golf, and more.
As families wandered the grounds, they explored various exhibitor stalls showcasing local family businesses, child services, emergency services, dance schools, and early learning centers. Many took the opportunity to enjoy a picnic and catch up with friends and family.
The 2024 Children’s Week Picnic was a wonderful celebration of community.
