Councillor Peter Maynard

This is Cr Peter Maynard’s fourth term as a Councillor, having first been elected in 2012.

He has served as Mayor three times, in 2014-2015, 2017-18 and again in 2021-22.

Passionate about all things community and sport, Cr Maynard has proudly called Wyndham home since 1982. He is a proud father of 5 children and nine grandchildren.

Cr Maynard is particularly passionate about ensuring Wyndham residents remain healthy and active and that residents have opportunities to stay fit and healthy through leisure facilities, sport, clubs and associations, and access to active transport infrastructure.

He has been Wyndham City’s representative on the National Growth Areas Alliance Strategic Committee, the Victorian State Government’s Community Advisory Committee (Justice Precinct) and Council’s representative on the LeadWest Committee.

The new Quandong Ward has a total of 36.6 per cent of working age residents who live and work in Wyndham, while 63.4 per cent are employed outside of Wyndham.

Quandong Ward

Quandong Ward is bounded by Argoona Road, Greens Road, Werribee River, Moretons Road and Spring Hill Road and covers the suburbs of Quandong, Eynesbury, Manor Lakes and Wyndham Vale. It has an area of 125.3 square kilometres. As of July 2023, it had 18,458 registered voters.

According to the Bureau of Statistics, Quandong Ward has a population of 24,596 – of which 12,480 – or 50.7 per cent – were born overseas. The top five countries of foreign birth are India, New Zealand, the Philippines, England and Sri Lanka. A total of 51.8 per cent speak a language other than English.

A total of 36.6 per cent of Quandong Ward working age residents live and work in Wyndham, while 63.4 per cent are employed outside of Wyndham.
