Jah Tung

Jah Tung is one of Australia’s most exciting and versatile reggae artists, a foundational genre responsible for the inception of hip hop, punk, dancehall and various other movements that give a platform to the voiceless. After having built momentum both locally and globally with collaborative releases with high profile international reggae artists and pioneers, the lyrical souljah is taking the scene by storm under the banner Jah Tung & The Natural Order. With his ancestry traced back to the first reggae sound system in Australia, Soulmaker Sound, this fresh and diverse artist strives to bridge the gaps between the country’s tight-knit reggae, hip hop, dancehall communities and beyond, highlighting the connections to the roots.

Joining forces with some of Melbourne's most renowned and skillful reggae musicians, bassy and producer JahWise, keys phenomenon Riccardo Barbarulo, percussion extraodinaire Carlos Meza and guitar guru Ward Hancock, as well as various other resident musicians of Melbourne, Jah Tung is honoured and excited to present The Natural Order, an unstoppable force bringing you the most electrifying riddims with the most intricate, dynamic and illustrious arrangements.

Previously sharing stages on tours and festival appearances, the accomplished musicians kept in touch despite the distance between cities, building a solid foundation for serious future works as soon as that gap was closed by destiny. Now, living in the same city, their collective mission has been anointed as they unite and continue their journey in ordained oneness.

Between those involved, The Natural Order have opened for high profile artists and pioneers, including the likes of Steel Pulse (UK), Macka B (JA), Bushman (JA), Sister Nancy (JA), Derajah (JA), General Levy (UK), the Havana meets Kingston project (CUB/JA) and Johnny Ragga (ETH) to name a few. Having performed internationally in Brazil, Germany and New Zealand and recorded in Germany and at Tuff Gong Studios in Jamaica, the artists have graced events and venues including The Sydney Opera House, The Enmore Theatre, Byron Bay Beach Hotel, Berlin’s MayFest, Jamaican Music & Food Festival, Catlins River Festival (New Zealand) and more.

With the freedom to serve up vivid new flavours as well as reinventing the familiar classics, Jah Tung & The Natural Order enchant and entice the audience from the door to the dance floor, with their addictive and animated orchestrations, hypnotic grooves and an overall vivacious atmosphere.
