Wyndham City is proud to announce that the Laverton Creek shared user path is now open, becoming a significant addition to our community’s infrastructure.

The new 720-metre path connects the Federation Trail with the existing Laverton Creek path to Dohertys Road, enhancing the shared path network in the Truganina Employment Precinct.

In collaboration with Melbourne Water and the adjacent landowner, Wyndham City has successfully constructed a 3-metre-wide path that promotes active transport and prioritises the protection of our biodiverse landscape.

The path features innovative swale drains and a 1200mm pipe and culvert to efficiently manage water flow, ensuring sustainability and resilience.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, commended the collaborative effort: “The completion of the Laverton Creek shared user path is a testament to our commitment to creating a well-connected, sustainable community.”

“This path will not only facilitate safe and accessible travel for pedestrians and cyclists but also enhance our local environment.”

“We are proud to work alongside Melbourne Water to deliver such an important project,” said Cr Shaw.

“This project exemplifies how we can work together to meet the needs of our residents while safeguarding our natural resources.”

This project was delivered as part of Wyndham City’s Active Transport Program for 2023/24, aimed at creating a safe and efficient transport network for all users.
