Wyndham City Council has a long history of commitment to learning as a driver for change in the Wyndham community, facilitating Learning Community Strategies continuously from 2006 to the present day. Council recognises the importance of lifelong learning and the rapid pace at which the educational and learning landscape is developing. It believes that learning is fundamental to the well-being, prosperity, and sense of belonging of all people.
The purpose of the Learning Community Strategy is to provide a strategic and integrated framework for the creation of a community of lifelong learning. It is used as the basis for Council to advocate, facilitate, explore, initiate, and deliver on Wyndham’s learning goals. It clearly defines Council’s role in improving learning outcomes. As a UNESCO Learning City, Wyndham seeks to mobilise resources from a range of sectors to promote lifelong learning for all. Without the strong connections forged over the series of Wyndham’s Learning Community Strategies this work would not be possible.
We are excited about the many upcoming Learning events taking place as a result of this Learning Community Strategy – the Wyndham Learning Festival; Wyndham Principal’s Breakfast; our First Nations WYNtalk; and the celebration of lifelong learner stories, just to name a few.
