A total of $24 million has been committed to the K Road reconstruction. Wyndham City will invest $800,000 over the 2024/25 financial year, with the remaining funds allocated over the subsequent financial years.
The project will also include an upgraded intersection at Main Drive to improve access to and from major attractions such as the Werribee Open Range Zoo, Werribee Mansion, the National Equestrian Centre, and the Victoria State Rose Garden.
Benefits:
- Enhanced Safety: The addition of a sealed shoulder will improve road safety by providing a safer space for drivers to pull over if needed.
- Smoother Journeys: The reconstructed road will offer a smoother driving experience, reducing wear and tear on vehicles and making travel more comfortable.
- Improved Access to Key Destinations: Easier and safer access to main tourism destinations in Werribee South, including the Werribee Open Range Zoo and the Werribee Mansion, which will enhance the experience for visitors and support local tourism.
This reconstruction project is a significant investment in the future of Werribee South, aimed at enhancing safety, accessibility, and the overall driving experience for residents and visitors alike.
These works form part of our Connecting Wyndham Strategy – an investment into our future to better keep Wyndham connected.
This project is projected to be delivered by early to mid-2026.
