AI for Businesses: the good, the bad and the ugly - Free Business Training

Explore the transformative impact of AI on businesses through the opportunities and challenges it presents for business owners. How can AI be used to drive innovation and efficiency (the good) to thinking about the downside impact of AI, including ethical and operational pitfalls (the bad) and ways to mitigate the potential for misuse or unintended consequences (the ugly).

This presentation will provide business owners a balanced introductory perspective on adopting AI and to learn of the ways Wyndham is working with the RMIT Enterprise AI and Data Analytics Hub to advance AI in the region.

About the Speakers

Dr Chao Chen is the Deputy Director of the Enterprise AI and Data Analytics Hub at RMIT University. He has many years of experience applying advanced analytics and AI models to real-world industry challenges. He holds a PhD in IT from Deakin University and has worked as a Data Scientist at Telstra extracting insights to drive business outcomes. His research sits at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity, addressing AI-drive security challenges. Dr Chen published over 60 papers and have secured over $3m in research funding in delivering innovative solutions in AI and data analytics.

Abhinav (Abby) Shrivastava is a dynamic capability researcher and academic in Information Systems at RMIT University, with over a decade of experience in higher education and business development. His expertise lies in integrating business analytics into organisational processes to enhance decision-making and resource transformation. Abby has worked with leading organizations like Amazon, Ford, and Microsoft. He has received prestigious teaching awards and published in top conferences such as the European Conference on Information Systems. With over $1.8 million in industry funding, Abby's work focuses on sustainability and innovation in top Australian organizations.
