Our Public and Environmental Health Unit is committed to upholding food and public health laws to protect our community.
Council takes on food complaints relating to:
- suspected food poisoning
- object in food
- unhygienic food premises,
- food handling, storage, transport or preparation
- presence of food allergens in a meal despite advising of an allergy
- incorrect or incomplete food labelling
- the sale of food from an unregistered food business.
We also action complaints about beauty businesses such as hairdressers or tattooists relating to:
- Unregstered beauty businesses
- Unclean premises and equipment
- Poor hygiene from a beauty therapist

If you notice something amiss or have concerns about a Food, Health or Beauty premises, we encourage you to report it. Here's how:
Report Food, Health & Beauty Premises
- An officer will action the request within five (5) working days. This includes contacting you to clarify the nature of the complaint, checking on any possible safety risks for City staff and explaining the complaint process.
- Your contact details are required when lodging this issue to ensure a proper investigation can be completed
