Cr Robert Szatkowski was first elected to Council in 2020. This is his second term on Council.

Cr Szatkowski has lived in Wyndham since 1986 and went to school in the area. He currently lives in Tarneit with his wife and two children.

He has served as an executive at the Laverton Softball Club, Werribee Softball Association and as a Director at Werribee Plaza Bingo (a social enterprise).

Cr Szatkowski also has experience working with State Government, managing the office of Tarneit MP Sarah Connolly for two years before becoming a Councillor.

Cr Szatkowski wants to improve residents’ everyday lives, such as improving Wyndham’s footpath network to make it better connected; installing more exercise equipment in our parks; supporting community groups dedicated to cleaning up the city; and increasing the supply of crisis accommodation for residents in need.

Cr Szatkowski also wants to see an exhibition building built that is fit for cultural events and a new performing arts centre built that will serve our growing city.

His vision is to be part of a Council that puts residents first.

Brinbeal Ward

Brinbeal Ward includes parts of Mount Cottrell and Tarneit. It is bounded by Boundary Road, Werribee River, Hummingbird Boulevard and Tarneit Road. It covers an area of 41.7 square kilometres. As of July, 2023, it had 18,150 registered electors.

According to the Bureau of Statistics, Brinbeal Ward has a population of 27,948, of which 16,896 – or 60 per cent – were born overseas. The top five countries of foreign birth are India, New Zealand, Philippines, Pakistan and Bangladesh. A total of 69 per cent speak a language other than English.

A total of 38 per cent of the Brinbeal Ward population live and work in Wyndham, while 62 per cent are employed outside of Wyndham.
