Council issues permits for Mobile Food Vans to occupy certain locations, enabling operators to access space within our municipality to trade on a regular basis. The locations offered under the program are in areas identified as having no or low numbers of cafes or restaurants, to help add to the vibrancy and amenity of these areas.

Note that not all locations and/or times requested may be available.

Mobile food vans need to be at the location stated on the permit issued, no roving service (e.g. through streets).

No more than two vans scheduled at any one location with no duplication of food offerings at the same time.

Note that not all locations and/or times requested may be available.

Successful applicants will be eligible to trade at the location/day/time stated on their permit.  No more than two vans will be scheduled at any one location, with no duplication of food offerings at the same time.  Roving service (e.g. through streets) is outside the scope of this initiative.

A permit fee of $942.00 per mobile food van is required to be paid by successful applicants.

Permits will not be issued to successful applicants until the fee is paid.

What happens after I submit my EOI?

Council will assess all EOI submissions and will advise applicants of the outcome of their application.  Successful applicants will be notified of the locations/days/times they will be permitted to trade.

Please note that permits will be issued, and trade can commence once Council receives:

  • Statement of Trade submitted for the successful locations/days/times.
  • Payment of permit fee.
