The exhibition was an on the site of the historical Werribee Park Mansion grounds cross-cultural Wiradjuri woman Karla Dickens presents ‘To See or Not to See’, a series of large-scale outdoor artworks being exhibited as part of Queer PHOTO – a large-scale photography festival in Melbourne’s west.
This series of artworks reflected on the artist’s personal ideas and feelings on being invisible as a middle-aged woman, as a First Nation woman, and how her ancestors have needed to hide their Aboriginal identity in Australia.
Karla Dicken’s practice will extend to the Project Hub at Wyndham Art Gallery as part of Queer PHOTO.
