With over 50 years of experience capturing wildlife and landscapes across Australia, the Antarctic, and Southern Africa, Bob presents his first-ever exhibition—a visual journey through some of the planet’s most extraordinary places.
The exhibition unfolds in four captivating sections:
- For Young Explorers – A vibrant and engaging collection designed for children, featuring heart-warming baby animal moments and young people participating in cultural activities.
- Australia’s Natural Wonders – A tribute to Bob’s 20-year dedication to documenting the local wildlife and landscapes. From delicate birds to powerful native species, discover the intricate details that make Australian nature so unique. You may even be inspired to take up birdwatching!
- The Wild Heart of Africa – Experience the untamed beauty of Africa’s stunning landscapes and remarkable wildlife. This collection showcases why Africa is on so many travellers' bucket lists.
- The Frozen Frontier – Journey to the Sub-Antarctic islands and Antarctica through Bob’s lens. Witness the awe-inspiring, icy landscapes and the incredible creatures that call these remote places home.
- Bob’s photography has been widely shared through books, websites, and educational resources, supporting environmental educators and organizations. Now, for the first time, his work is on display in an exhibition—inviting you to see the world through his eyes.
Be inspired to explore, appreciate, and photograph the beauty that surrounds us—whether in faraway lands or your own backyard.
Bob Winters has dedicated over four decades to environmental education, beginning at Healesville Sanctuary and continuing through roles at the Gould League and Ecolinc in Bacchus Marsh. Alongside his career in education, Bob has honed his skills as a photographer, contributing to numerous educational materials, books, and websites with his stunning images of Australian wildlife and nature. His latest endeavour, ‘Backyard Birds’ co-authored with Ron Smith, exemplifies his commitment to engaging families with the natural world through photography and writing. Bob's photography, particularly focused on birdlife, showcases his passion for environmental education and natural history. Despite his extensive body of work spanning Australia, Africa, and Antarctica, Bob has yet to publicly exhibit his photographs, encouraged by friends and family. His images, documenting over 105 species along Skeleton Creek where he has resided, are featured prominently on graphic panels for Friends of Skeleton Creek, illustrating his profound impact in local conservation efforts
