The Wyndham Volunteering Strategy sets out the strategies and actions that Council will undertake, in partnership with others, to strengthen the local volunteering sector and increase the numbers of volunteers in Wyndham.

Achievements in years 1 to 5 of the Wyndham Volunteering Strategy (2019-2024) fall under five key focus areas:
- Engaging, recognising, and supporting volunteers
- Being flexible and inclusive of diversity
- Training and development
- Communication and collaboration
- Driving good practice and delivering outcomes
Some notable achievements demonstrated in the infographic above are:
- Council hosted 3 x Volunteer Expos, attracting 1228 attendees and 381 new volunteers recruited.
- Council’s monthly spotlight on a volunteer social media campaign reached 260,826 residents and Council recognised and celebrated National Volunteer Week and International Volunteer Day each year. Years of service certificates were presented to Council volunteers.
- Within Council volunteer programs, 190 Council volunteers completed induction and 6 new Council volunteer programs have been developed. Council invested in volunteer software to manage its volunteer programs and volunteers.
- New resident packs now include information on volunteering, the volunteer webpage has been redesigned and refreshed with 17,892 clicks on our volunteer ‘landing’ page. Digital signage on volunteering has been developed and is displayed in Council facilities.
- Council has delivered 110 community training workshops, attracting 1,510 residents and 223.5 hours of free training. Topics included volunteer information sessions, Community Organisation Governance, Disability Confidence and Cultural Competence, and Leadership for Volunteer Managers, including the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement.
