Wyndham City’s Pilot Shopfront Improvement Program at Hoppers Junction has supported eight local businesses to upgrade their signage and improve their street presence which encourages customers to visit, shop and boost the village shopping strip.
Council worked with the eight business owners via an EOI process to create and implement the shopfront improvements concepts, engaging consultant Pop-Creative Collective to provide expert advice on retail and hospitality trends, brand extension and coordinating the works for businesses.
Council covered a portion of the project costs per shopfront, with traders contributing additional funds.
Participating traders were also invited to complete a feedback survey measuring project impact.
Feedback so far indicates:
- Customer Attraction: Improved shopfronts are attracting new customers.
- Community Impact: Enhancements have positively impacted relationships with neighbouring businesses and the local community.
- Atmosphere: The project has improved the overall ambiance of Hoppers Junction.
- Brand Enhancement: Unique touches that elevate the brand through different touch points.
The area has been through many changes following the recent train crossing removal project and this initiative helps residents and newcomers alike to rediscover the charm and convenience of Hoppers Junction.
