The expansion of the Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve continues to progress. The $11 million project, which is being delivered in stages, aims to enhance the facilities and services available to the Point Cook community.
The expansion aligns with the Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve Master Plan, which the Council adopted in April 2022. The project aims to create a modern, fit-for-purpose facility that better meets the needs of the growing Point Cook community, with an overall completion forecast for 2026.
Stage 1A:
Scope: Construction of a third kindergarten room, redevelopment of staff accommodation, redevelopment of the maternal and child health consulting rooms, and construction of a new entrance and reception area.
Status of work: Stage 1A works have now been completed with continued access to the facility now via the new main entry. Please note that previous interim entry points will now be closed.
Please note that:
- Maternal Child Health services are now located in the new consulting room.
- Kindergarten services can only be accessed via the new main entrance
- The west and south interim entrances will be closed
Stage 1B:
Scope: Construction of a new multipurpose community meeting space and community kitchen.
Progress: Works are anticipated to commence in late September with completion due in February 2025
Stage 2*:
Scope: Development of a compact sports venue and outdoor sports courts.
Progress: Construction tendering phase commenced in September 2024. It is anticipated that works will commence in early 2025 and be completed in 2026
