This Easter school holiday program at Wyndham Park Community Centre is offering local tweens and teenagers the chance to learn valuable life skills while embracing sustainability. The "Upcycle Your Old Clothes" workshop, led by Sarah from Pat and Jean’s Place to empower participants to transform their old, unused garments into stylish, trendy outfits with draping, embellishment in hand sewing and using the sewing machines
This program is designed for creative young people, to offer hands-on lessons in fashion design and sewing, giving attendees the tools to breathe new life into their clothes or vintage finds.
All materials are included for the course, which is priced at just $147 for the three Saturdays, 5, 12 and 19 April.
“Not only do we teach essential skills like sewing, but we also help foster creativity while promoting sustainability,” said Sarah, the workshop leader.
“This is an opportunity for tween and teenagers to learn something practical while also contributing to a more eco-conscious world. These are life long skills learned”
The program runs at Wyndham Park Community Centre, located at Kookaburra Avenue, Wyndham Vale. Spots are limited, and parents are encouraged to secure a place for their children quickly. Please call or email before Friday 4 April by 12pm to secure your spot.
