Our drop-in session is designed for young people aged 15-24 who are disengaged from both employment and education and are interested in hearing more about our Transition to Work program. At our Youth Hub we have free coffee and hot chocolates, client computers, a pool table, x-box, the wardrobe, a client pantry, and more!
The Transition to Work program helps young people aged 15-24 who are disengaged from education and employment to receive intensive, pre-employment support for up to 18 months to gain the skills and confidence to transition into sustainable and meaningful employment and/or education.
Eligibility:
- Age Requirement: Participants must be between 15-24 years old.
- Employment Status: Participants must be unemployed or underemployed (working under 8 hours a week).
- Education : Must wait 6 months to register from completion date of year 12, certificate III or above.
- Education Disengagement: Must be disengaged from school if 17+ and cannot wish to re-engage with current school.
- High School Exit Requirement: 15–16-year-olds require an exit letter from high school to register (we can support with this).
- WAOP Provider Connection: If connected with a Workforce Australia provider, you may be able to get transferred to TtW if you choose to (we can support with this).
- Special Note: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are exempt from this eligibility criteria, except for age and exit requirements. Youth Projects is a charity organisation, and we are committed to breaking the cycle of disadvantage.
