Your personal information, and the personal information of your parent/guardian (if applicable) is being collected by Council to enable you to apply to participate in the One Wyndham Project (‘project’).  Your personal information will be used to communicate with you about the project in accordance with the One Wyndham Project Terms and Conditions.  The personal information will be stored in Council’s Customer Database with restricted access to those facilitating the project and used to identify you when communicating with Council.  For further information about how your personal information is handled, refer to Council’s Privacy Policy.

APPLICANT DECLARATION

These terms and conditions apply to the One Wyndham award (‘award’).

By applying to receive an award, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions should be read in conjunction with any relevant award information, e.g. your application form and any Council correspondence regarding the award.

Submission of an application does not confirm your receipt of an award.  Successful applicants will be contacted by Council using the details provided in their application form.

  1. APPLICANT

    1.1 Applicants must be aged between 12 and 25 and must live, work, study or socialise in Wyndham.  Council staff, Councillors and their immediate family members are ineligible to apply.

    1.2 Applicants aged under 18 must have their parent/guardian’s consent to apply.  Applicants acknowledge that Council may contact the parent/guardian listed in their application form at any time to confirm that consent has been provided.

  2. APPLICATIONS

    2.1 To apply for the award, applicants must submit a properly completed application form at [insert website URL].  Applications which are incomplete will not be accepted.

    2.2 Applicants agree to immediately notify Council of any changes to their application, including the request to withdraw their application, by emailing onewyndham@wyndham.vic.gov.au.

    2.3 Council accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, invalid or corrupt applications.

  3. ASSESSMENT OF NOMINATIONS

    3.1 Each month, Council staff will assess all applications and nominations received to date during that calendar year and will select one person to receive the award.

    3.2 Council will contact the successful applicant by email and telephone to advise them that they have been selected to receive the award.

    ANNOUNCEMENT OF AWARD RECIPIENTS

    4.1 Council will announce each award recipient as a One Wyndham Young Person of the Month by publishing their photograph and a brief profile about them:

    a) on the One Wyndham page on Council’s website

    b) on Council’s social media pages, including but not limited to:
        i) the Youth in Wyndham Facebook page (www.facebook.com/youthinwyndham); and
        ii) the Youth in Wyndham Instagram page      (@youthinwyndham);

    c)in an article published in Council’s monthly newsletter, Wyndham News; and

    d) in a bi-monthly advertisement in the Star Weekly local newspaper.

    4.2 Award recipients agree to Council using the information they have provided in their application to be used to create the profile referred to in clause 4.1.

    4.3 Award recipients acknowledge and agree that their photograph and profile will remain on the One Wyndham page on Council’s website for 24 months, unless removed earlier on a recipient’s withdrawal from or revocation of their award.

    5. AWARD RECIPIENTS

    5.1 Award recipients agree to participate in all award activities, meetings and events as reasonably required by Council, including, but not limited to, an afternoon tea and meet and greet with Council’s Mayor in May (for those who receive an award between December and May) or November (for those who receive an award between June and November).

    5.2 Award recipients acknowledge and agree that award activities and events are subject to change and may be conducted using online technologies if they cannot be conducted in person.

    5.3 Award recipients acknowledge and agree that in recognition of receiving the award, they will receive:

    a) a personalised certificate, presented to them at the afternoon tea and meet and greet with Council’s Mayor; and

    b) a GiftPay gift voucher valued at $300. 

    5.4 Award recipients acknowledge and agree that terms and conditions apply to the redemption of gift vouchers,  Refer to GiftPay’s website for further information. 

    5.5 Award recipients acknowledge and agree that they will not be selected to receive the award more than once.

    6. PHOTOGRAPHY

    Award recipients are required to provide their own photograph for Council to use in connection with clause 4.1.  Photographs provided by award recipients must not infringe another person’s copyright or intellectual property rights, and the award recipient grants Council a perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, sublicensable and royalty-free licence to use and publish that photograph (in whole or in part) for the purpose of announcing their receipt of the award in accordance with clause 4.1.

    7. INDEMNITY

    Applicants, nominees and award recipients agree to hold harmless, indemnify and keep indemnified Council, its Councillors, staff and contractors (‘Council’) against any action, claim, demand, cost or other liability made against or incurred by Council in respect of any accident, damage, injury or loss arising from their application or nomination for, or acceptance of an award and their compliance or purported compliance with these conditions.

    8. WITHDRAWAL OR CANCELLATION

    8.1 Award recipients may withdraw from the award at any time by notifying Council in writing.

    8.2 Council reserves the right to revoke a person’s award where they have breached these conditions or false, inaccurate or misleading information has been submitted in their application, nomination or otherwise.

    8.3 Notwithstanding any other provision of these conditions, and regardless of whether a person’s award has been confirmed by Council, Council expressly reserves the right to cancel, change or modify the award or these conditions at any time.

    9. NO RELATIONSHIP

    Nothing in these conditions or in the conduct of Council and an applicant, nominee or award recipient will create a relationship of agency, partnership, employer and employee or joint venture between the applicant or recipient and Council.
