At the 27 June 2023 Council Meeting, Councillors adopted the updated Gifts, Benefits and Hospitality Policy which highlights the importance of Councillors, staff and personnel acting on behalf of Council to consider the reputational risks when they are offered or provided a gift, benefit or hospitality.
Wyndham City Council is committed to best practice, transparent decision making and good governance. This Policy is intended to support Councillors, staff and personnel acting on behalf of Council to avoid conflicts of interest, maintain high levels of integrity and build public trust.
In accordance with sections 138(2) of the Local Government Act 2020, Council are required to maintain a gift register for all gifts, benefits and hospitality offered, including gifts of a token value. A public version of the Gifts, Benefits and Hospitality Register will be published on Council’s website and updated on a half yearly basis.
