Celebrating Local Young Artists at LIT
Wyndham City is thrilled to showcase the creativity of local school students as part of LIT 2025. This spectacular night-time event transforms Wyndham Park, Werribee into a vibrant landscape of light, colour, and discovery, featuring impressive installations, projections, and interactive experiences. Now in its fourth year, LIT continues to evolve, and in 2025, the festival will run across 14 dazzling nights.
As part of this year’s program, artwork from students at five local schools will be projected onto the slide at Wyndham Park each night of LIT, bringing their imaginative creations to life.
Participating Schools:
- Alamanda K-9 College
- Ngarri Primary
- St Francis of Assisi
- Stella Maris Catholic Primary School
- Warringa Park School
Theme: Grounded in Nature
The theme for LIT 2025 is Grounded - a celebration of our connection to humanity, nature, and community. For the Children’s Slide Project, we are focusing on Nature and inviting students to explore what it means to them.
Exploring Nature Through Art
Students were encouraged to reflect on their experiences with nature through questions like:
Where do you experience nature—at home, school, or during play?
How do you hear, see, feel, and interact with nature?
What is your favourite natural place, real or imagined?
The Activity: Drawing Nature
Students across Wyndham were invited to draw what nature means to them - whether it’s a favourite park, backyard, the Werribee River, their favourite animal, or even the sky at night. Their artwork can include family, friends, pets, or any element of nature that inspires them.
Come and see the Children’s Slide Project alongside stunning light installations, interactive displays, and immersive experiences at LIT 2025. Witness the creativity of our young artists as their work is projected onto the slide each night, celebrating the vibrant talent within our young community.
