We want everyone to enjoy the water safely so, for the fifth year in a row, Wyndham City has partnered with Life Saving Victoria to have Werribee South Beach patrolled during summer.

Lifeguards will be on duty at Werribee South Beach daily from 11am–7pm between 21 December 2024 and 26 January 2025, and on weekends from 1–23 February 2025 to ensure you, your family and friends keep safe while cooling off during the warmer weather.

Wyndham City Mayor Mia Shaw encouraged Wyndham residents and visitors to have fun in the sun and keep safe around water this summer.

“We want all residents and visitors of Wyndham to be safe when they swim, and we are thrilled that Werribee South Beach will be patrolled by lifeguards for the fifth summer in a row,” Cr Shaw said.

“Water safety is everyone’s responsibility, so please make sure to swim between red and yellow flags at a patrolled beach where possible, supervise children, avoid swimming alone and know and stick to your limits.”

Over the summer period there will be several fun Beach Sessions for all to enjoy including:

  • Monday 13 January 2025 – Diversity and Inclusion Beach Program
  • Monday 13 January 2025 – Street Surfer Bus, volleyball net, basketball half-court and sports equipment
  • Monday 13 January 2025 – All Aboard Skateboarding Sessions
  • Tuesday 21 January 2025 – Diversity and Inclusion Beach Program
  • Tuesday 21 January 2025 – Wyndham City libraries van
