Kinder starts when a child is three years old. Children can go to:
• Long day care centres (also called childcare centres)
• Standalone kinder services (also called sessional kinder services)

A long day care centre has a kinder program with extra care hours.
A standalone kinder service runs on certain days and times. The kinder service decides these times.
