For adults in Wyndham who would like to learn more about mental health in young people (young people aged 12-25 years) and how to support them.

This course is for adults in the community who would like the opportunity to learn more about adolescent development, mental health and to develop their skills to apply mental health first aid when a young person is developing a mental health problem, is experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem or is in a mental health crisis. First aid is given until appropriate professional help is received or until the crisis resolves.

There will be up to 20 spots available for participants to attend. Upon completion of the training and a short open-book online assessment afterwards, participants will receive a certificate to become an Accredited Youth Mental Health First Aider and will be certified to apply mental health first aid to a young person. This certificate will be valid for three years.

This is a 14 hour course and will run face-to-face across two weekends on Sat 24th May & Sat 31st May from 9.00am-5.00pm. Participants will need to attend both sessions to successfully complete the training and become accredited.
