Ben

Can you describe a little bit about yourself, including your journey that has led to you standing for the electorate of Gellibrand in 2025.

I have always been interested in politics, and how government can be used to enhance the freedom and opportunities of all Australians.

I am standing on behalf of the Liberal Party, as I see it best represents those values - we want you to have the best chance in life to use the opportunities you have to succeed in whatever way you choose.

What are the top 3 local priorities for you at this Federal Election?

Cost of living, cost of living, cost of living. This issue impacts every other issue - national or local. We have proposed policies to help you keep more of your money in your pocket, and in doing so help alleviate the stress so many of us are feeling.

With Wyndham representing one of the fastest growing municipalities in the country, what will you do to ensure federal investment keeps up with this population growth?

As a part of helping to increase home ownership, the Liberal government has committed to speeding up delivery of necessary infrastructure services. As Wyndham is one of the fastest growing councils in the country, this will be particularly helpful to ensure that infrastructure keeps up with growth.

What is the most important transportation project that our community needs? Why do you think it should be prioritised?

Due to the long term neglect of transportation projects in the West by the Labor government, this list is unfortunately long. An elected Liberal government would start to address this by delivering the long delayed Melbourne Airport train. This would open up opportunities to deliver other projects in the future.

Last month, the Werribee Open Range Zoo opened the 21-hectare Elephant Trail, a world-class habitat for nine Asian elephants. There are so many exciting sites in the West for visitors including the Werribee Zoo, Cheetham Wetlands, Werribee Park Mansion, the K-Road cliffs and many exciting food and drink opportunities. What’s your suggestion to those who may be visiting for a day?

Throughout Gellibrand and the Western suburbs in general, there are so many great options. Whether you want to spend the day at the zoo, attend an event at Werribee Park Mansion, have a picnic by the cliffs or have fish and chips at the beach - you can do it all. Werribee has many great food and coffee options these days, including the particularly opulent desserts at Karomi. One serve, shared only for me!
