Can you describe a little bit about yourself, including your journey that has led to you standing for the electorate of Gellibrand in 2025.

I’m an IT consultant by profession, a father of two young kids, and a proud member of the diverse and vibrant community in Melbourne’s west. I live in Seabrook, where I’m actively involved in local life — from helping run our school’s Parents and Friends Association, to volunteering in local sports clubs and supporting grassroots initiatives. Coming from a multicultural background myself, I deeply value the rich cultural fabric of Gellibrand — where more than half of us have parents born overseas, and over 140 cultures are represented.

My journey into politics began not in party rooms but in community meetings, school council discussions, and advocacy work for better public transport, school funding, and local infrastructure. Over time, I saw that real change requires more than just good ideas — it needs people who are willing to step up and represent their communities with honesty, transparency, and care.
That’s why I decided to stand for Gellibrand as a Greens candidate in 2025. I want to be a voice for families, renters, and everyday people who feel left behind by major parties. I believe we deserve better — a government that puts people and planet first, not big corporations and donors.

What are the top 3 local priorities for you at this Federal Election?

Neglected Public Infrastructure – Upgrading transport, schools, and community facilities that have been left behind despite rapid population growth, especially in areas like Point Cook, Williams Landing, and Truganina.

Cost of Living Relief – Taking real action to ease the pressure on families by addressing housing affordability, energy bills, and essential services.

Accessible Health Care – Strengthening Medicare and investing in local health services so that everyone can get the care they need, when they need it.

With Wyndham representing one of the fastest growing municipalities in the country, what will you do to ensure federal investment keeps up with this population growth?

As one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the country, Wyndham’s rapid population growth brings both opportunities and challenges. To ensure federal investment keeps pace with this growth, I will:

1) Advocate for Increased Funding for Infrastructure: The federal government must prioritize infrastructure projects that support the growing population of Wyndham. This includes expanded public transport services, road upgrades, and essential services such as healthcare and education facilities. I will fight for dedicated funding to ensure that our roads, transport systems, and community services are developed and maintained to meet the needs of our expanding population.

2) Champion Affordable Housing and Local Planning: With such rapid growth, there’s a risk that housing prices will continue to skyrocket, making it difficult for families to afford to live in Wyndham. I will push for federal investment in affordable housing projects to ensure that everyone has access to a home, and work with local councils to ensure that growth is managed sustainably and equitably.

3) Support for Public Schools and Community Services: As the population grows, so does the demand on our schools, hospitals, and community services. I will ensure that federal funding is directed towards improving and expanding our public schools, healthcare facilities, and community programs to meet the needs of a larger and more diverse community.

4) Invest in Sustainable Growth: Wyndham's growth must be sustainable, so I’ll advocate for federal investment in green infrastructure, renewable energy, and climate adaptation projects. This includes ensuring that we have the resources to protect our environment and plan for future challenges, such as extreme weather events.

What is the most important transportation project that our community needs? Why do you think it should be prioritised?

The most important transportation project for our community is the expansion and upgrade of public transport, especially bus services and train infrastructure. As Wyndham grows, we need better connections to reduce traffic congestion, improve access to jobs and education, and provide sustainable travel options. Prioritizing public transport will help ease commuting, create equal opportunities, and support our environmental goals, ensuring that our infrastructure keeps up with the rapid population growth.

Last month, the Werribee Open Range Zoo opened the 21-hectare Elephant Trail, a world-class habitat for nine Asian elephants. There are so many exciting sites in the West for visitors including the Werribee Zoo, Cheetham Wetlands, Werribee Park Mansion, the K-Road cliffs and many exciting food and drink opportunities. What’s your suggestion to those who may be visiting for a day?

If you're visiting the West for a day, start at the Werribee Open Range Zoo to experience the incredible new Elephant Trail and see the Asian elephants in their world-class habitat. Then, take a leisurely walk through the beautiful Werribee Park Mansion gardens and grounds to enjoy some history and nature.

For nature lovers, make sure to visit the Cheetham Wetlands for a peaceful walk through the reserve, or explore the K-Road Cliffs for stunning views and a chance to connect with the natural surroundings. If you're into bushwalking, there are plenty of trails nearby where you can immerse yourself in the local flora and fauna.

End your day with some great food and drinks at one of the fantastic local eateries at Watton St, offering a variety of delicious options to suit every taste. It’s the perfect day combining nature, adventure, and local flavours!
