Councillor Susan McIntyre - Cheetham Ward

Cr Susan McIntyre was first elected to Wyndham City Council in 2020, serving as Mayor in 2022-23. A Point Cook resident since 2011, Cr McIntyre is dedicated to enhancing the community’s quality of life through active involvement in numerous local projects and initiatives.

Originally from the UK, Cr McIntyre is a qualified solicitor with over 18 years of experience in the retail sector, focusing primarily on Human Resources. Her professional expertise, combined with a strong community focus, enables her to effectively advocate for the needs and interests of Wyndham residents.

As a Councillor, Cr McIntyre has championed local projects such as the Point Cook Pop-Up Park and the painting of the Palmers Road Sound Wall, in addition to contributing to initiatives like the Point Cook Action Group, the Point Cook Anti-Graffiti Group, and Point Cook Open Spaces.

She actively volunteers with Christmas at the Lakes, Neighbourhood Watch, Coastcare Point Cook, and Love Our Streets Point Cook. She is also a key connector in the community through social platforms like Ladies that Lunch, Welcome to Point Cook, and Wyndham Dining.

Believing strongly in the impact of community collaboration, Cr McIntyre is committed to making Wyndham an outstanding place to live, work, and enjoy. She and her family proudly became Australian citizens in 2020, further deepening their commitment to the vibrant Wyndham community.

Cheetham Ward

Cheetham Ward covers an area of 21.4 square kilometres in Point Cook. It is bounded by Point Cook Road, Sneydes Road, Mercure Way and Whitecross Avenue, and the coastline. As of July, 2023, it had 17,160 registered electors.

According to the Bureau of Statistics, Cheetham Ward has a population of 28,031, of which 16,152 – or 57.6 per cent – were born overseas. The top five countries of foreign birth are India, China, New Zealand, England and South Africa. A total of 55.6 per cent speak a language other than English.

A total of 33.2 per cent of the Cheetham Ward population live and work in Wyndham, while 66.8 per cent are employed outside of Wyndham.
