Café Philosophique runs the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Bridge Hotel in Werribee, exploring the hidden forces that shape our lives through music, poetry and conversation.
On Wednesday May 14, we will be taking a deep dive into SIGHT & PERCEPTION.
Can we trust our vision? What shapes how we see and perceive the word? If a language doesn't have a word for something, does it exist? Is seeing really enough to confirm believing? What if your red is not the same as my red?
These are just some of the questions we will grapple with on the night.
The evening will begin with a magic show from Dazzling Dan the Magic Man, whose tricks will challenge what we think we see, exposing our blind spots and limitations.We will then hear some spoken word from our feature poet Tariro Mavondo, explore what's beyond the horizon through some creative writing, and end with some delicious deserts and deep conversations.
