2025 World Environment Day – International Youth Art Prize

Calling All Young Artists in Wyndham!

The 2025 World Environment Day – International Youth Art Prize is now open! Offers young artists aged 5-18 from Wyndham the chance to showcase their creativity and raise awareness for the environment. The event will take place at the Saltwater Community Center and will celebrate the inspiring power of art in advocating for a sustainable future.

Prizes & Awards:
We’re excited to offer fantastic prizes for the most outstanding works in each age category:
• Gold Award for Each Age Category: A Verve Family Portrait Kit valued at $1,095 – everything you need to create beautiful family portraits and explore new artistic possibilities.
• Most Potential Awards for Each Age Category: $100 Art Supply Kits for 3 outstanding entries that show exceptional promise and creativity in environmental art.
• 4 Individual Awards: $50 Zart Art vouchers for 4 exceptional pieces that stand out for their creativity and environmental impact.

This event is made possible by the Wyndham City Council and the local community, giving young artists an opportunity to highlight environmental issues through their work and inspire meaningful change.

World Environment Day is a global celebration held every year on 5 June, dedicated to encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect the environment. Since its inception in 1974, the United Nations has used World Environment Day as a platform for individuals, organizations, and governments to come together to address critical environmental challenges. The 2025 World Environment Day theme will continue to inspire collective action for a sustainable and healthier planet, and our youth art prize echoes this spirit by empowering young artists to contribute through their artwork.

Theme: "Air, Land & Sea"

This year’s theme, "Air, Land & Sea", invites young artists to explore and express the importance of the Earth’s natural elements that sustain life. Whether it’s through depicting the beauty of nature, addressing environmental pollution, or highlighting the impact of climate change, your artwork can inspire action and bring awareness to the planet's most vital resources.

Age Categories:
• 5-8 years
• 9-13 years
• 14-18 years

Entry Conditions & Requirements:

1. Age: Participants must be between 5 and 18 years old.
2. No criminal record and no plagiarism or other bad behavior in previous art activities.
3. Size of Artwork: A3 or A4 size. Please ensure that your full name, date of birth, age, and contact details are written on the back of your artwork.
4. Entry Fee: $60 per artwork (covers selection, framing, exhibition, and artwork management).

5. Key Dates:
o Entry Deadline: 16 May 2025 (Friday)
o Finalist Announcement: 20 May 2025 (Tuesday)
o Winners Announcement: 5 June 2025 (Thursday)

Accepted Art Forms:
Your artwork can be created in various forms, including:
• Oil paintings
• Watercolors
• Acrylic paintings
• Sketching
• Color pencils

Contest Process:
1. Contact Just Art Studio to pay the entry fee and register your participation.
2. Submit your original artwork to Just Art Studio. All registered works will be exhibited at the Saltwater Community Center from 23 May to 23 July 2025.
3. Finalist Children will receive an invitation to attend the Opening and Award Ceremony on 5 June 2025.
4. The Opening and Award Ceremony will take place on 5 June 2025.
5. Public Exhibition will be on display from 23 May to 23 July 2025.
