Tarneit Road Intersection Upgrade (Shaws Road and Tarneit Road)

This decision addresses the increasing costs associated with capital works projects and aims to enhance road safety and reduce traffic congestion.

Construction for the Stage One intersection works is expected to commence in mid 2025 with all works expected to be completed by mid 2026.

Features:

  • Traffic Signalisation: Upgrading Shaws Road intersection to a fully signalised arrangement.
  • Pedestrian and Cycling Improvements: Enhancing existing pedestrian and cycling linkages for better accessibility and safety

Benefits:

  • Improved Road Safety: The new traffic signalisation and enhanced pedestrian and cycling linkages will significantly improve safety for all road users.
  • Reduced Travel Times: Optimised traffic flow through the upgraded intersection will result in shorter travel times and less congestion, making commutes more efficient.
  • Enhanced Pedestrian and Cycling Accessibility: Upgraded pathways will provide safer and more convenient routes for pedestrians and cyclists, promoting healthier and more sustainable modes of transportation.

The Shaws Road and Tarneit Road Intersection Upgrade Project forms part of our Connecting Wyndham Strategy and is a crucial investment in our future, which aims to create a safer, more efficient, and connected transportation network for all residents and visitors.

This project is projected to be delivered by early 2026.
