The Dohertys Road Duplication Project involves expanding Dohertys Road to two lanes in each direction between Tarneit Road and Sapling Boulevard. It will also upgrade the roundabout at Dohertys and Tarneit Road to a fully signalised intersection and installing traffic signals at the intersection of Dohertys Road and Rosso Drive. The project also includes realigning Dohertys Road to avoid multiple crossings of Dry Creek, as well as new bridge over Dry Creek, upgrading and providing new pathways to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists, and enhancing the amenity and flow of Dry Creek.
Benefits:
- Improved Road Safety: The duplication of Dohertys Road and the upgraded intersections will significantly enhance safety for drivers and pedestrians.
- Reduced Travel Times: The additional lanes and optimized intersections will alleviate congestion, leading to shorter travel times.
- Enhanced Pedestrian and Cycling Accessibility: Upgraded pathways will provide safer, more convenient route.
- Increased Capacity: The road expansion will accommodate growing traffic volumes, ensuring the road network can support future population growth.
The Dohertys Road Duplication Project forms part of our Connecting Wyndham Strategy and is a crucial investment in our infrastructure, aimed at creating a safer, more efficient, and sustainable transportation network for all residents and visitors.
This project is predicted to be delivered by mid-2027.
